Hend, Wis., enjoyed a pleasant visit
with Mrs. John llniui for the past
two weeks. They left Monday for
the two California fairs.
Last Sunday u pienie was held at
the pleasant home of Mr. and Mrs.
Sam Anderson. The following guests
enjoyed the euting: Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew mid family, Mr. mid Mr.

son of Med ford and A- V. Carlson

Mr. Pierce pnssed away at the
home of his son, It. A. Pierre, Sun
day. Tim funeral was held at 1:00
o'clock Tuesday.
Five hundred acres of valuable
timber was burned Sunday in this
vicinity. The cnuo is unknown but
the first Maze was noticed in the
timber noithwust of M-'d Huikholz's
storage barn. The wind caused the
fire to travvel very rapidly, but due
to the quick work of the many help
ing hands the fire did not destroy
any building or crops. Hundreds of
people came to the assistance of the
neaihy neighbors and Willow Springs
feels very giateful for their loyal
work.
