Every farmer and fruitgrower must answer this question "Yes!' or "fy'
within the next, few days, because the Water Users Association inteiHls'tOjqb;
tain an expression from every land owner. '
Think It Over. . $
If you do, you will realize that to see personally every landowner in, thisj, -- j,,
valley is an undertaking in itself and can only be accomplished QUICKLY by .
the cooperation of ALL landowners in obtaining an idea of the Association's p,
purposes from our publicity. ' ''',, fo
How Can You Help? . . '.!.:.
Read this iage today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow! You will
then see what the Watei-s Users Association is attempting and will know wheth-
dr you ,aro ready to assist in the work. .
, The Important Thing Now Is to Know What
We Are Driving At
Briefly, Article II of the constitution of the Water Users Association
states our purpese: " .,
Article II. Objects and Purposes. r $
The objects and )iirposu of this Association shall be: ,
(a) "To encourage and promote interest hi irrigation." '
(b) "To secure data, plans and surveys as to the feasible irrigation .sys
tenis and sources ot supply in the Kogue Kiver .Valley. t
(c) "To use every legitimate means to procure the eons
irrigation system."
Later in these advert iseinents we will make clear the details of these plans. . ,r"j ,
First, last and aTTthe time, we want it known that . . 4 ., ',.

ana.tneovater users Association nereuy )ieoges iisen to propose no pian mat
contemplates the forcing of irrigation on any landowner w,ho DOES NOT
WANT WAT1SR. AVe make this clear statement in answer to certain rum
ors that this Association is paving the way to the re-introduction of the compul;" J
sory District Plan under the cloak of a new idea.
This Association Will Not Attempt to Persuade-
You to Take Irrigation
You SHOULD know whabyou need in your farming better ban does this
Association. You have worked your particular soil and you SHOULD know
what you can or cannot do. You know what you did in ISJltt with irrigation
unusually heavy rains during the growing season; you know what you did in
1J)M with a dry season; you know what you are doing in 1915 with a dry season
and every prospect of being drier. You know whether or not your second
stand of alfalfa is normal, your clover growing, your truck garden producing
normally, vour fruit big and healthv, and setting a crop for next year. You
SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE what water will or will
not do for you. If this Association can gather interesting facts on production
with water, it will lay them before you but it WILL NOT ARGUE WITH YOU.
You Can Make Up Your Own Mind
.. 'All this Association proposes to do is to get facts and present them to you.
Incidentally, the Association wants some facts itself First: How many land
owners, and how many acres want water?
No If or But About It. We Intend to Get Water
for Those Who Want It and for No More!
The fact is that the great majority of landowners want water, and cannot
make money without it. Who are they? Are there 10,000 acres, ir,000, . '
20,000, 30,000 ( In other words,
We Don't Cook Dinner for 50 If There Are Only 20 to Eat

tu 50,0Q0 Acres Ultimately If Only 20,000
7 ,. Acres Want Irrigation Now,
be'eaustt that moans that t)ie 20,000 acres must pay for the installati6n of a
jargor "ditch than is necessary to irrigate 20,000 acres, with the hope that 50,000
'aorck4will" Ultimately want it. The dirUetors of this Association believe that it
tini'qto get down to business, with, those, landowners who WANT. water and

Ifmrn. '
The Association Can and Will Obtain the
Cheapest Water
" l Large enough main ditehesto carry water for 25,000 acres obviously cost
less than ditches for 50,000 acres. If an impounding or storage plant is not re
quired for 25,000 acres, why spend several hundred thousand dollars for im
pounding for 50,000 acres? Why develop a plan that will cost more than is
, .necessary only because it provides more wrtter than is necessary?
Briefly, this is why
; ' .
The Association at Present Definitely Favors No
Particular Source of Irrigation.
There ar.e at, least four irrigation systems feasible of dpvelopment. Tvo,of
these systems would provide for a much smaller acreage titan the other two.
Noiuof.tluun could be definitely favored by this Association without a specific
engineering investigation, No investigation is definitely warranted without a
reasonable idea of the amount of acreage drsiring irrigation.

If you feel that we arc persuing the right course the
easiest way to get your name on our lists is to send it! Don't
make us come after it. '

sociation or call on us at our offices, 208 Garnett-Corey
