lection, as insured, totals over $1,100.

fruit exhibit. Wo have forty-five
display boxes of tipples and show
fruit in the process form. There is
much interest in Crater lake.

r. Frohbach urges that "as fast as
new fruit arrives ithc,fclpppcd to the
fair for exhibition. In order to in
sure quick'dclivery, it should be sent
by express nnd the same prepaid.
Mr. Frobneh will return to his
work nt the fair next Tuesday. He
states that the exhibits in the Ore
gon building are daily improving.

cent meeting of the board of d'nee-
tors, Mrs. K. II. llnnley was elected

Paul Janney, resigned, nnd Call
Tengwald was elected secretary.

mittee of the Dramn league was call
ed bv the president, Mrs. Alan Brack-
jinreed, on Wednesday, nitd the mat
ter ot celebrating the Shakoseare
tercentennial was considered. It was
decided to hold some appropriate
Shakescnrean festival in conjunc
tion with the Medford rose show next
year. Various public organizations
in the city will be communicated with
and every effort made to make lhi '

Champolllon wan born In Parts hut
hail lived most of his life In this
country being a graduate of Harvard

only 34 years old, ancf was an artist
of considerable promise, He leaves
a wife and ono child. The last let
ter received from Champolllon by Mr.
Kdgell described the horror of trench
warfare, but the writer was In ex
