man her two children, placing them

court in tho hands of a Mrs. White-
man. The order taking tho children
from her was served by tho sheriff's
office. It was 'rumored that Mrs.
Hoffman was planning to flee with
her unties, nnd for this reason a close
watch was kept, for fear sho would
outwit the law. This Is tho closing
chapter of a domestic tragedy that
has been of keen Interest locally. In
a divorce decree granted Wednesday,
the father was given the custody of
tho children, along with tho decree.
