COMMUNICATIONS
To the Editor
irnving read some articles in your
paper recently relative to the killing
of tho game wnrden, Mr. Hubbard, by
Loris Martin, I want tho opportunity
to 'call vour attention to the fact that
whilo wo greatly deplore tho killing
of Hubbard ourselves, y6u must re
mejnber that there arc two sides to
Ibis affair. I am not justifying tho

Thoso articles I allude to have the
tendency to prejudice the minds of

virtually without a trial.
Now, I would like to say this: That
I oin acquainted with Mr, Martin and

them for eighteen years. I know
them to bo a peaceable and hard

TEN MILES OF FILM
AT THE STAR THEATER
K, L, Dernard, manager of the
Star theater, gave out some reel fig
tires yesterday.
On Christmas day tho Star started
the first show at 1:00 p. in, and had
a picture on the screen continuously
until 11:10 p. m., running a seven
reel show eleven times, and us each
reel bus 1000 feet of film this makes
a total of -tll.ooO feet, or about ton
miles of films that wero run through
tho two machines used at this the
ater. One thousand and fory-qpe tick
ets were sold the r.aiuo day that are
two Inches long, making n total or
2082 Inches, -or 17", foot.
With tho l.irge niiubcr of picture
theaters In tho United States all
running Christmas day at tho total
mileage of tickets and reels would
probably bo enough to go round tho
world sqvcral times.
