has been made by tho allies on
Cologne and Dussoldorf, both Import
ant Zeppelin airship bases. The
telegram follews:
"A dispatch from Cologne states
thnt hostile aeroplanes threw bombs
at tho Zeppelin hangars at Cologne
and Dussoldorf on Thursday after
noon. The former was uninjured, but
dnmago was Inflicted at Dussoldorf."

van Opera company appeared In
"Trial by Jury" and gave a program
of tho most celebrated vocal and In
strumental gems from the Gilbert &
Sullivan comic operas. Tho affair
was a great success, tho huge o:en-aIr
playhouse being thronged. Presi
dent Benjamin Ido Wheeler and
members of the faculty were present.
Tho effects and eost ninety reflected
great credit on the producer, Mr.
William A. Hrady. It was the first
professional presentation of "Trial
by Jury" In this country for 30 years.
Mr. Hopper wag signally honored
In being Invited by the University of
California to appear within tho classic
precincts of tho edifice that had
known Sarah Uemliardl's "Phedre"
and Maude Adams' "As You Like It,"
for no comic opera star had previous
