of the gross earnings down to June
f, 3012, at which time they uiado a
tender of $20,000 for a conveyance of
the plant owned by the eity, and the
eily at that time refused to accept
the $20,000 because Iho Ifcht com
pany demanded n ratification of the
franchise for n period of twenty-five
years, which wan plainly in violation
of the city charter that would permit
the city council to grant a franchise
for ten yenrs only.

of the gross earnings of the fompmiy
