All the lawyer of Lane ponnty,
sixty-four in number, have voluntar
ily pledged them-elves without dis
sent to hi enndidnpy. A eireuit
judge pomes into more intimate eon
tnet with the jieoplc, and hi prnt
tipiil niliiiiniMriition of justice is sub.
jeet to n cither and more eon-tnnt
scrutiny by all clnse of petsniiri
than perhaps the duties of any other
office. An e.ferienee of nine years
on the circuit bench, therefore, whieh
has met the approval of all parties
and elaoses, both lawyers and lay
men ,in such ii signal manner, is very
high evidence bth of the judicial
ipiulificutions of Judge Harris, nnd
of his pprcnunl standing and chnr
npter in the ponimnnity where he.
lives. Hi impurtinlity is demon
strated in the udministration of jus
tieii to nil )vcr-oii coming into hi
pourt, whether of high or humble -tn-tiou,
nnd the evidence of tlnw pml-
JliPt afforded by the approval of hi
own people, who know him best in his
own home, constitute the het evi
