NEW YORK, April 18. The con
dition of Corporation Counsel Polk,
who yesterday wan struck in the jaw
by a bullet intended for Mayor
Mitchel of New York, wan reported
satisfactory today. He rested well

Michael P. Maliouey was arraigned
today for the shooting. Ho was
charged with assault with intent to
kill. It was believed be would be

"Mnhoney," said Mitchel today, "is

tered and probably insane. Kxcept
