SAN FRANCISCO, Cal, Jan. 29.
Mrs. Mary Vaughn, a San Francisco
clubwoman, was found guilty horo to
day of attempting to extort G00 from
Judgo R. M. "WIdney or L.os Angeles.
Tho evidence showed that Mrs.
Vaughn promised to have a whlto
alavo charge against Arthur B. WId
ney, Judge Wldney's son, dismissed
upon tho payment of $500.
Mrs. Vaughn took tho Terdlct calm

of the sheriff and will be sentenced
