Deer creek, was drowned Friday,
Jan. 9, In Deer creek, evldontly hav
ing fallen oft while crossing upon a
log. She was a pioneer of Josephine
county and is survived by her hus
band and by five children, threo
daughters and two sons. She also
leaves three sisters and four brothers,
the sisters being Miss Jessie Maston,
of Grants Pass, Mrs. John Balrd ot
Selma, and Mrs. Alvin Campbell of
Mcdford. Tho brothers are Will and
Fred Mastln ot Selma, Chan. Mastln
of Washington, and Ernest Mastln of
Klamath Falls. Her mother, Mrs,
W. H. Mastln, ot Selma, also survives,

safe, securing $00 lu money, and two
county warrants. Tho thief solved
tho combination ot tho nafo and
opened the Inner drawers with a
chisel. Tho robbery was discovered
this morning, and the Inns reported
to tho police.
Emplojos of tho lumber company
told Chief lllttson that a man hut
been coming to the ards every night,
they thought to sleep, but that owny
morning tracks were found about the
office door. Thereforo tho police do
duct that the cracksman has been
working on tho combination for
throo or four nights, and Is an expert
safe w oritur.
Tho lock of tho Inner door was
punched In with the cold chisel nnd
each door demolished, nnd the con
tents searched. One of thene draw
ers Is missing. All the aliisble
papers and notes of tho firm orc
carefully piled by tho prowler under
neath tho safe, whom they wero found
this morning. Tho safo's Interior Is
a wreck.
