Replying to your letter of Decomber C, beg to say that my rawcu
consists of forty-four acres, thlrty-bcvcn ot which Is planted to fiult,
twelvo ncres have Just como into b earing this year and twenty-flvo
acres consists of four-year-old pear trees. Wo sold 1500 boxes of Newtown
npples from two hundred and fifty troes nine years old. Somo of thoso
trees yielded eight boxes each. Tho so apples sold for $1.75 per box f. o.
b. Medford. Wluesaps, Spltzenborgs and other varltles brought good
prices. Hartlett pears brought $1.2S net and Winter Nellls $2.00 per box.
Five hundred bushels ot corn wns ral sed between tho young trcos, which
was used to fatten rovernl head of hogs. This ranch has paid 24 per cent
this year, nnd only one-quarter of it

acres of my orchard to squash and
pumpkins nnd this fall I harvested
one hundred and fltty-two tons. I
also had one ncro In carrots which
turned out 15 tons. I had 20 acres
In alfalfa, ns It was new seeding I
only cut 40 tons.

$350.00 and hnvo about $25.00 mora
to sell. I urn an amateur and expect
to do much bettor another season.
