course of (he pnt few years, but
seldom has the opportunity been tif
forded to witness n more remarkable
collection than those which were
taken of l'nul J. HAtncyV African
Hunt, and which will be kIiowii at tho
Xnt next Hominy and Tuesday.
Tho wild beasts of the jungle, tlio
lion, the elephant, tho rhinoceros
the giraffe ami other animals which
mnko their home near the cqnntor
seen only perhaps in captivity or in
drawing nrc shown in their native
haunts.
Mr. llnincy's hunting trip to Africa,
tho exciting incident! which market!
his fenrch for the wild beasts of tho
junde right to their haunts, nnd tho
trophies, including mnnv large speci
mens of tho denizens of the equator
which ho brought back, is a Mory
thnt has already been givcu to the
public. There is no nature faking in
tho motion pictures of the Kniney cx
!cilition into tho jungle, neither U
their any posing. The lion is shown
trailed to his lair by the American
dogs which accompanied the party.
The king of the forest is run to
earth, and actually killed, by trained
Mississippi hounds. Among the most
interesting views shown by the mo
tion pictures nro the animals of tho
water-hole. The water-hole, within
ten degrees of the equator, furnishes
water to the wild beasts, who make
their way to it from as far as eighty
miles. Tho pictures of the expedi

which accompanied the party, the
many thrilling oc.ntws of tho photo
graphers in their quest for some
thing out of the ordinary, nro nil
shown in the films, which can safely
bo said to be an important addition
to natural science.
