EXCURSION
DUE IN APRIL
The date, of tho first excursion to
Medrord from tho north has been set
for April 9.
At a meeting of thoso interested in
a Seeing Medrord company at A. J.
Iup ton's office yesterday this data
was decided upon and It was an
nounced that the Southern Pacific
would allow a ono way faro tor the
round trip.
John Arnell was appointed to be
special representative In Seattle, and
It. A. Rowley and D. Fehl will look
after Tacoraa. These men will lcavo
for tho north In a few weeks and
every effort will bo made to make the
first excursion a success.
Ford Hills and O. V. Meyers were
named a committee on side trips and
the following officers were elected:
President. Dr. W. H. Everbard, treas
urer, C. M. English; secretary, A. J.
Lupton.
Tbo excursion tickets will allow
for a ten day stop-over and It Is
planned to arrange a number of side
trips from tnls city to the Marble
Caves, Crater Lake, Roxy Anne and
Table Rock. Fishing parties will
also bo taken out and a tour of the
orchards will form a special feature

day afternoon at 3 o'clock at Mr.

the people in favor of abolishing the
senate, W. S. U'ren of Oreja City,
who is watching the closing hours
of the session, stated thnt there would
not only be initiated n bill to thnt ef
fect at the next election, but nlfo a
hill providing for n cabinet form of
government, and providing for tho re
organization of tho county govern
ments.
"I am satisfied." said FRcn, "that
tliis session has increased "cnliment
mnong the people in favor of abolih-
ing the senate and maintaining only
the house, and there will be initiated
at tire next election the Bara bi'l
which was defeated at the la-l elee
tion. In addition the rest of the
plan will be presented to the voters
n. cabinet form of governmen with
the governor at the head, and r re
organization of the eoui.ty govern
ments. I do not mean to say any
thing to reflect on legislator.-). On

houses nro composed of as good men
this session as any legislature wc
