cabins Inside tho forest as well as
lake, mountains, and places of In
terest, The principal roads, towns
and cities In Jackson county nro
shown making tho maps, Invaluable
to hunters, campers, or travelers In
the forest or county. The map was
prepared under the direction of Sup
on Isor Krlckson. On tho back of tho
folder Is much Information regard
ing gamo laws, board of health laws
which apply to mountain streams nnd
data on the control of fires. The
maps are very valuable.
Tho Crater National Forest con
tains practically nil thnt Is left un
appropriated of tho former hunting
grounds f the Indians In this region.
It lies In two blocks. The moro
northerly and larger block extends on
the northwest to tho crest of the
Umpqua Mountains and on the north
east to tho boundary of tho Crater
Lnko National Park. Inkr-oNthc-Woods,
Fish Lake, and Four Mllo
Lnko aro In tho southern part of
this blck, which contains the south
ern end of the cascade Mountains;
tho bnsln of Rogue River and its
tributaries lies between tho Umpqun
Mountains nnd the Cascade Plateau,

which have jieen constructed by the
Forest Service make available to
tourists and pleasure seekers the
trout streams, mountain lakes, hunt
ing grounds, mineral springs, and
