1912 GRAIN CROP LARGEST
IN HISTORY OF COUNTRY
WASHINGTON, Aug. 10. This
year's grain crop In the United States
will be far In excess of last year's
yield. It was estimated today by the
department of agriculture. It will be
belter than the average crop for the
last ten years and In case of the
number of products will make a new
record, If present estimates are not
overthrown by conditions now un
foreseen. The corn crop Is eatlmnted at 2,
811,000,000 bushels, the largest in
the nation's history excepting tho
years 190C and 1910. Tho wheat
crop with C80 million bushels It Is
estimated will rank fifth In slzo dur
Ing tho last twenty years. Oats which
surpasses last year's crop by 21 mil
lion bushels and barley which will
yield 202 million bushels aro both
new records.
