candidate In the presidential nomin
ation race, formally declared today
against the new party movement led
by Theodore Itoo.sevelt and announc
ed his allegiance to tho old party.
It being so, Cummins said, that boss
Ism could not be escaped by the or
ganization of new parties. Continu
ing, he declared that to those repub
licans who Included Koosevelt, Tatt's
renominatlou wns tho result of fraud
ulent votes, "the nominee of the con
vention Is not the nominee of the
party."
Nevertheless he said ho believed
tho republican party offered more
hope for substantial progress toward
good government than any other po
litical organization, and ho declared
it his opinion that disappointment of
Individual or dishonesty cannot bo
tho foundation for a new party.
John C. Capers, who supported
Roosevelt In the convention, also for
mally announced his Intention of
support for Taft. He declared tho
majority of the national committee
ruling wns "not as severe as tho
steam roller methods of four years
ago."

did not learn how successful they

tar of ferns and lilies, the Rev Bandy
officiating. Tho brido was attired In
cream marquisette over cream satin,
her veil being held In placo with a
Juliet cap of pearls, and carried a
shower bouquet of sweet peas. Miss
Leilu Prim acted a.s bridesmaid, be
ing attired in whlto marquisette over
pink satin, and carried un arm bou
quet of LaFrance roses Tho groom
was attended by Lewis I'lrich as best
man, Miss Maud Newbury playing the
wedding march. After tho coroniony
tho guests repaired to tho dining
room, which was beautifully decorat
ed In pink sweet peas, Dorothy I'or
