of tho agreement, the entire contest

tlals. This arrangement, while
seemingly of benefit to Taft, merely
transfer the scene of the fight.
Evidences of an attempt by the
Roosevelt and Taft leaders to get
together in many of tho remaining
contests were seen in the compromise
in the Missouri district contests.
Just before adjournment, contests
from North Carolina districts were
considered. In the First District
two Roosevelt contesting delegations
appeared. The committee decided in
favor of delegates Butler and Robin
son. The contest from tho Fourth North
Carolina District was sent to tho foot
of tho list because of the illness of
one of the contestants. In the con
test in the Ninth District, which was
albo between two Roosevelt factions,
tho committee seated delegates Mc
NIcli and Greene.
