has but recently returned from Port

Mr. nnd Mrs. D. W. Stone, recently
from Denver, Colo., were In Medford
Wednesday. Mr. Stone was In the
valley Inst November and while here
at that time he purchased a 22
aero orchard tract two miles west
from Central Point, and he and Mrs.
Stone arc now here to take up their
residonce on the land. This tract of
land Is pretty much nil sot to S-year-old
apple trees and 4-year-old poor
trees. Among tho Improvements
aside from buildings which Mr. Stone
will Install will be an individual Ir
rigation plant, securing the water
from wells and using electric power
to pump It. Mr. Stone hns been a
newspaper man for about :t0 years,
but sold his paper and roslgned his
position as postmaster at Trinidad,
Colo., to come to the Rogue river val
