Two bodies hnvo been recovered
and rescuers aro battling desperate '

where tho remainder arc entombed.
There is grave danger for the safety
of the rescuers, who aro braving
death from falling walls in their ef
forts to rescue their enombed com
panions. Sixteen of tho entombed miners nre
believed to be dead. Tho explosion

of the mine, and is said to have been
a discharge of powder.
At noon six rescuers, bnttling to
recover tho bodies from their suffo

surface unconscious and almost
