At a meeting of the officers and
stockholders of the Jackson County
Fair association hold last night a com-
mitteo of the following men was ap
pointed to select a sito for fair
grounds: Irving Worthlngton, Dr. J
L. Helms and C. M. Speck.
It is the Intention of the Jackson
county association to purchase a tract
of not more than 25 acres of land
and fit It up for fair and speed trial
purposes and to operate the same in
dependent of the district association.
The committee is to report at a
meeting of tho stockholders to bo
hold in l'residont Canon's office to
morrow night.

Medford Hotel for the wireless tele
graph company, fell to the roof Init
night while being raised.
Workmen had raised the pole about
two-third of its height when it broke
i ntwo falling to the roof with n force
that shattered tho glass in the ele
vator shaft and shook up things o
badly in the hotel that the guests
could think of no catastrophe short
of an earthquake.
Only about three minutes before
the crash men were on the pole fast
