school district Thursday morning, but

The curb gang of tho Clark &
Henry street paving company Is now
putting in curbing on Itoxo avenue,
having completed the eurtm on New
town and Mistletoe streets. The
graders are now working on Ivy
street hotween Main and Sixth. This
gang will go ne.t to Ileutly street
where there Is considerable work to
ho done. Other gangi of workmen

finish Is put on between Alice and

Supervisor Erlckson Thursday re
ceived word that the final one of a
number of small fires which hnve
been burning In the national forest
the past few days has been controlled
and at present no fires are burning.
Over 30 different fires havo started
this season but nono has done any
damage.
The watch for new fires has been
increased now that tho hunting sea
son has opened In order to prevent
a repitltlon of last year's experience.
The fires which caused so .-great an
amount of loss last year did not start
until August 20.
