Fight Fans in All Sections of South

Well in Training Stunts.
YESTERDAY'S SCORES.
With the date of their content only
n fow days away, both Battling Nel
son and Tommy Oaffnoy, who will
clash next Friday evening, are fast
rounding into shape. Both of them
seem fit to travel the ten-rounds of
the contest without checking their
speed, and both men are finding back
era. Nelson says he Is In the best of
condition and that by the time tho
gong sends them away he will have
put on the proper fighting edge. Gaff
ney, on tho other hand, has trained
faithfully for tho contest and realizes
that he has arrived at the ono su
premo moment In hts career to make
a reputation which will throw him
Into a class to be reckoned with. Tho
ten-round bout Is sure to be a fast
one and ono that will keep the fans
on their toes throughout.
Edwards' gymnasium Is crowded
daily to watch the two men go
through their paces. Both Nelson and
Gaffnoy are giving their sparring
partners nil that they want and rough
it up considerably. Gaffney seems to
be able to take the hard ones as well
and is making a study of the Nelson
defense, confident that he can break
it down.
Walter McCallum, who Is promot
ing the bout, has received word from
all parts of southern Oregon and
northern California that a large crowd
of fight fans will be on hand to wit
ness tho bout. Tho contest has been
advertised widely and well. There is
little doubt but that the crowd will
bo large.
The contest is attracting consider
able attention throughout the coun
try, for fight fans of the nationa aro
keeping their eyes on the Battler to
see if, as ho says, he Is not yet out
of tho championship class. A great
deal depends upon the outcome of
the fight hero next Friday evening.

their hoiies and anticipations more

From the rise of the curtain, to its

tho audiences' sincere approval and i
