S. M. Hawk, Who Has Long Been In
Sawmill Business Meets With First
Acidcnt May Lose Sight In One
Eye.
After thlrty-flvo years of exper
ience us a saw mill man, S. M. Hawk,
who now operates a mill at Prospect
and one at Peyton, has just suffered
his first accident, and in consequence
may lost tho Bight of one ot his eyes.
Mr. Hawk is engaged in cutting
timber for tho Prospect Construction
Company. He was testing his mill
when tho governor's belt flew off
letting the mill start so fast that
a piece of wood split off a pulley and
struck Mr. Hawk on tho right eye
and forehead. A splinter entered the
eyeball and he may lose the sight In
that eye.
