n share ot attention, according to

there is a scarcity vof desirable
houses, housekeeping rooms especial
ly, furnished rooms,' and houses with
modern, improvements. A good sup
ply of the older houses was noted
as compared with the. game, period
last year.

who repressed the conviction that
such an Institution is a pressing need

properly has changed hands recent
ly In the valley through tho Huntley-
MacClathchle real estate offices. They
have sold tho orchard known as tho
"Laurels" owned by Stanton Grlffls
and associates, ninety-three acres of
land adjoining Suncrcst. ten acres ot
the Rati tract and tho Raymond
tract. Ono or two largo deals are
now pending.
"Tho Laurels" situate on the
Jacksonville-Central Point hill road
owned by Messrs Knglish. Trelchler
and Grlffls was sold to J, L. Tracy,
a Minneapolis grain dealer. Mr.
Tracy will build an elaborate home
pp the place and will reoido there.
The orchard consists ot twenty-nine
acres of fruit Just coming into bear
ing. Five acres ot the tract is im
planted. The view from the ranch
Is ono of the finest In tho valley.
E. G. Burgess, Jr., has closed a
deal which has been pending for
some weeks by which he becomes the
qwner of the Raymond orchard on
Griffin creek. The tract consists of
thirty-five acres of which seven acres
is unplanted and the remainder is in
four or five year old apples and
pears.
S. G. Redding and associates of
Seattle have purchased ninety-five
acres ot land adjoining Suncrest
owapd by V, IV. Glasgow. The tract
la planted to two year old trees. Mr.
Redding Intends to subdivide and dis
pose ot tho place on the unit plan.
A. Mr. Shepard of Minnesota has
purchased ten acres of the C. F.
Rau tract planted to pears. Ho ex
pects to make bis home on the prop
