ing of the work, not alone on the
Pacific & Eastern but in many other
sections.
"I do not believe that we will be
able to do any work on tho extension
of the road this year as it is now
too late in the season even if we hnd
the money available. But the road
will eventually be constntcted.
"I am not nn entire stranger to
the valley," continued President
Gray, "although this is my first visit
here. I have heard much of your
wonderful section arid am nnxjoiis
to acquaint myself with it f irst baud.
I also feel tbnt I will ;iot be disap
pointed ns my information hap been
spoken in the highest terms regard
ing the valley and no ddiibt I shall
find all that they have told me true,
"I am here not only to look over
the Pacific & Eastern but to learn
first hand of Mcdford and the Rogue
River valley. I shall welcome all in
formation regarding them that is of
fered." Shortly after tho arrival of the
party in this city thoy loft on the Pa
cific & Eastern for Butto Falls In or
der to inspect tho lino. They wero
accompanied by Chlof Euglncor Gerig.
Tho party will return this evening
and President Gray will be tendered
in informal dinner by local business
men. Covers will be laid for about
twenty-flvo.
Saturday three or four automobiles
will bo sdcured and tho party taken
for a drive throughout tljo orchard

sources of tho valley of tho Roguo
will bo shown Mr. Gray uud ho will
gather much information of value to
a man in his position,
Tho Roguo River Valloy is not en
tirely an unknown section to Presi
dent Gray 'as ho is a close friend of
Colonel Blddlo who owns an orchard
tract hore. Both Mr. Gray and Col
onel Blddlo wero formerly vice presi
dents of tho samo railroad system

A pretty wedding was solemnized
at the home of Mr. nnd Mrs. D. V.
Ikebc at Agate Wednesday ecniug,
June JS, when their daughter Elsie
was given in marriage to Mr. Hnlliu
Head.
Promptly nt S o'clock the bridal
party entered the parlor to the
strains of the wedding mureh played
by Miss: Hazel Hyruni nnd standing
beneath n beautiful arch of ove.tn
spray and roses, Kev. A. J. JIanby
conducted the impressive ring cere
mony, which made them man and
wife. The bride wore a dninty dress
of cream crepe de chine, and was at
tended by her cousin, Miss Nora
Becbe.
The groom woro conventional black
and was attended by the bride's
brother. Mr. Carl Beebe.
After the ceremony a sumptuous
supjKsr was served to the 'S3 invited
friends and realtives. The esteem In
which this young couple is held -iv.is
shown by the many beautiful pres
ents they received from their friends
and relatives. Mr and Mrs. Head
are now keeping house on n farm
near Medford, whero the groom is
employed as superintendent. Their
many friends all join in wishing them
wedded bliss and happiness.
