thur Rarnen ha len recelvwl. ltefore
his death Tuesday morning Barnes was
able to state that hta folks resided In
Mohawk, Mo. A telegram was Immedi
ately sent nnd about o'clock Tuesday
evening Chief Hlttson received a reply
from Courtney Barnes, a brother, telling
him to forward the remains Immediately
at the le.ist possible expanse. Later a
telegram was received from W. It Ruah
of the Polk County bank In Moliuwk
guaranteeing all expenses.
A coroner's Inquest being unnecessary,
the remains will be forwarded to hln
former home.
A wrecking train wna sent here from
Roeburg and the tracks cleared by the
middle of the afternoon. Nothing has
been heard of Barnes companion, who
wna on the car with him and who dis
appeared after Informing th police of
the accident

BY AUTO BRAKE
Harry Wcntiel. while endeavoring to
shove his autcmoblla forward Tuesday
afternoon, caught his left hand In the
brake drum and had It bruised badly.
The car was standing In the street by
his music shop and. wishing to use It.
Mr. Wentzel grasped the spokes or one of
the rear wheels and endeavored to push
the car forward to get a straight run
Into the street His hand became Jam
med In the brake and he was forced to
pull the car back before he could extri
cate the member. No bones were broken.
but the flesh was badly bruised and the
service of a physician were required.
