Tlie cattle, market retched the lilKhest
mark of tlie Reason tills week when hnv
fed steers sold for 7e& with Insufficient
offerings to supplythe demand. Wo
would advlso nil uw&rs of fed stuff to
ship before the nm' of southern Brass
came starts tills Vny. as the market
will continue sternly to higher until that
time. Thinner steers not well finished
sold all the. way from $6.60 to $6.83,
with tho 8e!ind hovers much In vldmir.

Receipts of hogs from local points
wero lieavler than they have been for
somo time, hut the market rallied nnd
held up surprisingly well considering
tho fact that n large shipment of east
ern Iiokh wero on tho market ns well.
While It would lako an extra choice load
of hogs to bring thu former top of $7.25,
ordinary light grades bring $7.10, only
15c under, which, considering the heavy
hnmmerlng of tho week, Is a very slight
decline Indeed. There Is a moro decid
ed slump In. heavier grades, best quali
ties selling from $6 to $6.60.
Tho sheep market remained firm to
higher, with stock fairly well repre
sented. .California cwe.s brought $ I.7C,
yearlings $5.50. 7c continues tho top y
jor oest uprinn lamns, wnuo wetuers
range from $6 to $0.50, with a strong
demand.
