DYNAMITERS OF
TIMS WERE HERE
Detectives Search Cabin on Outskirts
of Town and Find Clue in Small
Square Piece of Cardboard on
Which is Writing.
The search for desperato criminals
often leads to places fur remote from
tile scene of their crimes. Medford in
many miles from Los Angelos, the
scene of the recent duslnrdly rcniie
of blowing up the Times, but the
men who "turned tho trick" have
been here. Authentic information
that these desperadoes came to this
town shortly after tho dynamiting
has been received by local railroad
officials and state police officers are
hero trying to pick n clue which will
lead to the present whereabouts of
tho murderers.
An anonymous letter to tho head
of the S. P.'s detective department
was the first clue to tho whereabouts
of the robbers. Acting. Acting on
thoinforniation conveyed in tho letter,
detectives came here here and began
a (piiet scrutiny of the suspected in
dividuals, who occupied the small
house on the outskirts of the ttowu,
which was the home of a recluse who
recently died. The detectives ob
tained permission of the police de
partment to' locate themselves near
by, and from this point of vantage
they kept close watch on the men.
Yesterday afternoon an autoo cnme
up and the men (there were four of
them) climbed nboard.
The detectives had a machine at
their disposal nnd they quickly start
ediu pursuit, first detailing two of
their number to make a search of the
hut. The search revealed that the
men bad considered themselves safe
from pursuit, for the cabin was well
stocked with provisions. On a shelf
just behind tho door the officers
found a ticket to "The Military Girl,"
which is to be given soon for the ben
efit of the local high school.
