Mayor Fawcctt's latest onslaught
against the liquor interests of the city
and the campaign for the mayor's re
call, which has hecn in progress for
several weeks, is 'now expecting It
take on renewed activity. The pertur
bation of the suloonists is a result of
the introduction by Mayor Fawcett
at yesterday's council session of an
ordinance providing for the closing
of nil saloons at six p. m. except on
Saturdays when they may remain
open until 10 o'clock.
Commenting on his latest anti
liquor measure, Mayor Fawcett said
today :
"The Royal Arch started this fight
on me, and now I am fighting buck
If they want a fight I'll give them a
