NOW FOR A GREATER MEDFORD.
TN KK-ELISCrrrNa Mayor (tonoii, citizens of iMedford
hnvc shown tliiMr appreciation of J'aiihful service in
(ho past. Three good men have been elected to the coun
cil and the public generally is satisfied that the al lairs ol
the city will be ably managed.
Def'ealed candidates are taking the result philosophi
cally and there is every reason to believe that the animos
ities and factional differences developed during the cam
paign will be as speedily forgotten, and the people of Med
ford stand united for a greater city.
The one thing that looms big on the horizon is the fu
ture of iMedford and the Rogue River valley. How to de
velop our resources, how to populate our vacant hillsides,
how to open our mines, to manufacture our timber, to
quarry our granite and marble these are the things
worth while, that call for all the energy, all the ability, all
the effort that an enterprising, progressive community can
put forth.
For this result, let all forget factional 1'eeling and elec
tion ill will and work together so that each may prospei
as the community prospers. Let each do only those tilings
that make for the betterment of Medford, remembering
that strife and discord and knocking never developed any
place.
The country having been saved again, for another twr
years, all of us can return to our work and resume oui
task of creating a city.
