other Fight on Rules-Will Fight
Harder Than Before.
WASHINGTON, D. C, Dec. 23.
A repetition of the fifjlit over the
liouso rules "which enlivened the Inst
session of congress rns predicted
todny by Hcprcscntntive Norris of
Nebrnskn, lender of the house in
surgents, nnd the men who precipi
tated the Inst fight thnt resulted in
curtailment of the powers of Speaker
Cnnnon.
Norris declared thnt the fight
would start iinniedintely after the
holiday recess. ThosNebraskan said
he proposed to introduce n resolu
tion amending the rules covering
motions to discharge committees
from consideration of bills. His de
cision, it was intimntcd, s the result
of numerous conferences with in
surgents nnd democrats, following
tho efforts of the "stnndpnt" repub
licans to discredit the present rule,
thereby preventing tho expedition of
business.
"We intend to attack imperfect
rules," said Norris, "nnd wc will
fight oven harder than wo did lnwl
Mireh."
