ENGINEER ARRIVE
Walter Gardner, the Pacific &
Eastern engineer, who was injured in
n wreck on the line some six week
ngo. died at a hospital in Portland
Tuesday aqd his remains arrived ln-t
Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Gardner sustained internal in
juries at the tiem of the accident
rand later was removed to Portland
for treatment, ell was compelled to
undergo an operation nnd in his
weakened condition was unable to
survive the shock. The direct cause
of death is given as bronchial pneu
