vative estlmnto of our fruit crop this
fall would be 2500 cars of apples,
125 cars of Dartlett pears, nnd 20
cars of winter pears. All varieties
promise exceptionally well, savo
Black Twigs, Arkansas Blacks and
Red Cheek Pippins. Size, color and
quality promises exceptionally good.
Our estimate tor the state la 4500
cars.
Fine Crop at lloocl Hlet.
Hood River Or. Hood River will
hnvo n splendid crop of apples this
year. The two principal varieties
grown hero aro N'owtowna and Splt
zenbergs. 1 believe the present crop
to bo tho best, tho handsomest and
most uniform crop wo have ovor had.
Tho totnl crop. Including all varie
ties, will probably bo about 400 cara,
mnybo more.
FroMs Uula Montana Fruit.
Helena, Mont. Tho outlook for a
largo yield of apples In this state
this year Is tho roverso of promis
ing. Lnto frosts destroyod tho buds,
and only a light crop la oxpected.
Growers In tho Bitter Root district
expect a fair yield of avorago qual
ity, but shipments will bo consider
ably lighter than in 1909.
.Michigan Crop Not Heavy.
Lansing, Mich. Frost reduced tho
applo crop of Michigan 30 por cont
or mnybo 35. In somo parts of tho
stato 50 per cont of tho crop was
ruined, but growors now think that
tho damage was not altogether as
bad as at first reportod. In Ludlng
ton, S5 per cent of tho apples woro
damaged. One-third of tho crop was
ruined at Montaguo, whllo tho ylod
at Dryden will bo only about 40 pdr
cent of n crop. It Is expoctod that
SO cars will bo shipped from Trav

April destroyed almost all tho fruit,
and as a result dealers will have to
look to outsldo points for supplies.

Rock Island and at Cobden, but not
enough for local uao. About 210
