PORTLAND, Or., July 12. Police
reserves were called out twice early
today to iiell minor riots between a
number of striking members of the
Teamsturs' union and imported
strikebreakers. Three nonuuionists
wore severely beaten in the moleo,
one being compelled to go to a hos
pital. No arrests were made.
The rioting shortly after midnight
was a result of suveral clashes ear
lier in tho evening.
Tho first disturbance occurred at
Fifteenth and Washington streets.
There a score of unionists and uon
uuioiiists met and clashed. A riot
call was put in nnd the reserves were
sent to tho scene. When the police
arrived all thu men had fled. Late
thev renewed the "fieo-for all" at
FUivonth and Couch streets. The po
lice were called out i c onl time,
