GRASS FIRE MAY CAUSE
AUTOMOBILE FINES
SKllcr. Selma. Or
WAN'ruo situirrmT"
S2
A gmss fire on North Central ave
nue which might havo resulted in a
serious blaze Tuesday nftcruoon,
may be the means of causing some
nutomobilists to bo a bit more care
ful about running over hose lines.
Three nutos nro known to havo vio
lated tho ordinance in that respect at
Tuesday's fire, and warrants will bo
issued for the arrest of the offend
ing chauffeurs. Tho mayor was ab
sent from tho city Wednesday morn
ing, but is expected to try tho cases
this afternoon.
Tho violation of tho ordinance was
likely more through carelessness
than intention, but tho damage by
the bursting of a hoso in caso of a
big firo would bo just as great
whether intentional or accidental.
