GRANTS PASS CLAIMS
CHAMPIONSHIP ON GAME
In the Oregoninn of Wednesday a
two-column picture of tho Grants
Pass ball team appears, together
with tho statement that Grants Pass
had won tho championship by de
feating Medford June 5. Some re
porter got his signals crossed In
writing up that dope and the joke is
on Manager Roper. Fred has work
ed early and late to build up the ball
team in the Pass, and deserves credit
for his efforts, but he should keep
his eye on his press agent.
O. J. Patton, manager of tho Ho
tel Xnsh, on reading of tho rctirc
' meat of Justico Moody of tho United
States supremo bench, remarked:
"Why, I played ball in the New
England league in 1SS3, when Judge
Moody was president of the league.
He was ono of the greatest baseball
fans I over knew, and there wasn't a
poiut of the game ho wasn't con
versant with in those days."

a very long profit in the first of the season. Think of a profit of $10.00 or over on a suit that cost $8.50 or less. Wo don't believe in marking
