In Curry County, Is Still
Veiled In Mystery.
MAItfllirilCLI). Or., Feb. 10.
Mystery still surrounds tho murder
of Albert Ityan, who wan killed and
robbed lu a lonely spot on Pistol
river In Curry county.
It. Collier, who was arrested as a
suspect, has been released and today
these seems to be small chance of
finding tho murderer. Collier was
given a preliminary hearing nt the
town of Harblu, near where the body
was discovered. Thero was not suf
ficient evidence to provo him In any
wny connected with tho murder. The
most damaging circumstantial evi
dence against the accused inqn was
the report thnt he had left Dol Norte,
Cnl In company with Hynn. but It
has since been learned that they loft
two days apart.
A few dollars In money and Ry
an's watch havo been found on the
ground near where the body was dis
covered. It Is believed that Ityan had
about $180 when he left Pel Norte.
The finding of the watch and money
leads some of the officials to U
Hove thnt Ryan committed suicide,
but this Is hardly possible as the
only weapon was a knife In his pock
et, and he had been stabbed twice and
his throat cut.
