WASHINGTON, Feb. 19. Dr

"The senator Is resting comforta
bly. Ho Is suffering from paralysis
and aphasia. His temperature Is un
changed from the morning record
and his pulse and respiration are nor
mal;
"The progress Is favorable to Till
man's recovery If the present condi
tions are maintained for a few days.
The stricken senator had a fairly
restful night, broken only at Intervals
by bad spells.
The patient was able to recognize
the members of his family, and al
though ho was unable to speak, he
gave slight signs of recognition with
his eyes.
The senator's power of articula
tion Is completely suspended, and It
Is feared that he never will speak
again.
