you county, which town made a bid
for the capital. Opposition to the

Redding, in Shasta county, and from
Eureka in Humboldt county, both ot
which were planned to be included In
the new state. Besides the foregoing
three counties, the backers of tho new
state plan were to include Dol Norte,
Modoc, Lassen and Trinity counties In
