club pulled off a successful "tag
day" Inst- Saturday, in spito of un
propitious -weather, realizing $150
from1 the sale of tags. Their cafe
teria supper" in the evening netted
them $115 more. The money will bo
expended in parking tho railroad
grounds between tho exhibit building
and tho freight depot.
DEATH CLAIMS OLD-TIME
RESIDENT OF ASHLAND
, ASHLAND, Nov. 0. (Special. )
Death claimed an old resident in the
person of Charles B. Kingsbnry Situ
day afternoon. Deceased had lb'ed
for nearly 40 years on a portion of
tho Hill donation claim, seven miles
south of Ashland, known as Kings
bury soda , springs. He would have
been 78 years old had he lived until
the,, 16th of this month. IIo is sur
vived by his widow and two sons.
Interment was made in Mountain
View cemetery this morning, the fu
neral services boing held at tho lato
residence at 10 o'clock.

darich, rin infant, was burned to
death and her two little sisters,
Rosic, aged 4 years, and Annie, 2
years old, wore probably fatally
burned today when a lighted lamp up
set and ignited their bed. Mrs. Zid'a
rich loft tho babies in bed this
morning while she wont to the rail
road yards to pick coal. During her
absence the lamp was npsot.

BAD STORM RAGING ON
THE BEACH AT NOME
NOME, Nov. 9. The worst storm
for many years is raging hero today
and many structures and wharves on
the water front have been blown down
by tho violent wind. Several small
steamers have been wrecked, mclud
nig tho York, which was blown ashore
and destroyed at Unalaklike. Tho
Mnrinsacs is. aground in the Snake
river and the Wilkes in the Tishow
river. There have been no reports of
loss of life thus far.
