d a y ’s accounts w ere th e m ost circum ­
s ta n tia l and a p p a re n tly re lia b le y e t re ­
ceived. T hey w ere accepted w ith re ­
serv e by A m erican officials, including
G eneral Kell, but th e M exican officials
ex p ressed confidence in th e ir re lia ­
b ility .
