orchard are th e oldest English walnut
trees in the sta te planted for commer

hills are covered w ith prune trees,
chiefly Italian , though the French
prune, th e leading v ariety in C alifor
nia, is grown to some ex ten t here, but
it is called the P e tite , and does not at-
tain th e C alifornia size.
