The last meettng of the Social club
was held at the home of 'Miss Grace
Cypert. The attendence was large
and a very pleasant evening was spent
by all. Miss Opal Brlggs was a club
visitor.
In a recent evamination In Geogra

wrote ''Six seals and six polar bears.
Miss Grace Cypert and Frank Tyler
of the review class took the teachers
examination, and both passed. They
have both secured schools. Frank

town, in a short time.
In one of the lower grades, all the
children were asked to bring to class
a short original composition about
some article they saw in daily use.
Following is a sample: "The needle is
a sewing tool. It Is composed of two

eye is made of air, and is what we
stick the thread through. The point
is made of steel and is what you stick
through the cloth."
The professor was giving a lecture
on "Early Rome and the Romans"
"These hardy men" he said " think
nothing of swimming across the Tiber
three times before breakfast." Sud
denly a loud laugh came from the cen
ter of the class, and the Professor,
amazed at this Interruption, angerly
asked the pupil what he meant by such
conduct. " I was just thinking sir,
that the poor Roman chaps would find
themselves on the wrong side for their
clothes when they landed."
The debators are doing fine work.
The High School team have under
