filed in this, office by J. W. Wald, contest
ant, against homestead entry No. 10061,
made November 23, 1901, for S NWtf.

Section 4, Township 1 N., Range 26 E. W.
M., by John H. McLaughlin, contestee, In
which it Is alleged that said John H. Mc
Laughlin has wholly abandoned said tract;
that he has changed his residence there
from for more than six months since mak
ing said entry; that said trac1 is not settled
upon and cultivated by said party as re
quired by law; that said alleged absence
was not duelo his employment in the ar
my, navy or marine corps of the United
States in time of war. Said parties are
hereby notified to appear, respond and of
fer evidence touching said allegation at 10
o'clock a. m. on January 4, 1907, before
J, P. Williams, a U. S. Commissioner, at
his office In Heppner, Oregon, and that fi
nal hearing will be held at 10 o'clock a. m.
on January II, 1907, before the Register
and Receiver at the United States Land
Office in The Dalles, Oregon.
