An organization of capital Is about
to be completed which will have for
Its primary object the building and op
erating an electric railway from Irrigon
to Lexington, through the very best of
Morrow county. - This road will no
doubt, make a great difference In
the traffic to lone and Lexington over
the 0. R. & N., as stations will be es
tablished along this new line that
will naturally attract trade that has
been going to these points. Frelgt for
interior points will be consigned to
Lexington, as it is estimated that the
difference in transportation charges
justify the longer haul by team. Con
nection will be made with river steam
ers and with the north bank road by
ferry, thus insuring a low freight rate
to the Portland markets. With this
road in operation the 0. R. & N. may
be expected to sit ud and take notice
of Lexington and perhaps put an agent
at this station.

A MOUNTAIN OF GOLD
IK TIME OF rBACS
In the first months of the Russo-Jap-an
war we had a striking example of
the necessity for preparation and the

speak, "have shingled thier . roofs In
dry weather." The virtue of prepara
tion has made history and given to us
our greatest men. The individual as
well as the nation should be prepared
for any emergency . Are you pre

cold you take? A cold can be cured
much more quickly when treated as
