pearances. Pete Beymer' entertained a party
of his young friends at a party at the
home of his mother. All report
good time.
We have received a number of
packages of garden seeds for free dis

M. F. Parkerwho has been ill the
past few weeks, is reported as greatly
improved and will soon be cut among
his friends again.
A surprise party was given J. H.
Chapman, Tuesday evening last, in
honor of his 31st birthday. A good
time is reported by all.
Miss Bertha Fuller Is the guest of
Hood River friends this week Miss
Myrtle Cox has been employed to fill
her place in the Drug Store.
Wm A. Ferguson ' returned to his
home near Centerville. Wash.. Satur

a M. D., having graduated at the
Willamette University last Tuesday.

John B. White says the rumor that
he intended going to Chicago was
false. He never intended going but
was thinking some of moving a part of
Chicago's population to Lexington.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas P Barnett of
Pendleton, are visiting with Lexington
relatives and friends this week. Mr.
Barnett is now connected with the
Marble Works of Monarestelli Bros.

Randolph Fred Hunter, son of Dr.
R. C. Hunter, of this city, graduated
in medicine at Willamette University
Tuesday last. His mother attended
the graduating exercises. In a class
of fourteen Mr. Hunter held third
place. The graduates went before the
state board of examiners Wednesday
for state license to practice.
A birthday party was given at Mr.
and Mrs. David Leach's residence last
evening in honor of the 15th birthday
of their daughter, Anna. It being the
birthday of Miss Merl Carmichael and
W. P. McMillan a combination party
was made and the three birthdays were
fittingly remembered. Those present
report a very pleasant time.
We heard a traveling man telling
how one of the well advertised patent
medicines saved the life of himself
and a companion during the last cold
snap of the winter. The two were
driving through the mountains when
the buggy axles became two dry to
use, one of them having a box of , the
salve advertised used it for axle grease
and they continued their journey and
thereby kept from freezing to death.
