T. W. Morgan, Republican candi
ate for County Clerk, passed through
town Monday enroute to Heppner to
file his petitions. Mr. Morgan is
gaining In popularity throughout the
county as a result of his personal can

We were Informed a short time ago
that a deed had never been issued
for the' cemetery grounds. This is
semething that should ' be looked into
at once. A cemetery association
should be organized for the purpose of
looking after the cemetery and hold
ing the deed to the land used for that
purpose. Get together and attend to
this at once.. Beautify the grounds
before Decoration Day.

Contestee. In which It l alleged that said
entryman has wholly abandoned said land
and has failed to live upon and cultivate said
land as required by law; that the only im
provements he has made upon said land is
a shack of a cabin which Is not habitable at
any time of the year; that said alleged ab
sence has existed for more than six months
lasi past; mat said alleged absence was not
due to his employment in the army, navy or
marine corps of the United States In time
of war. Said parties are hereby" notified to
