DIED At his home near
Wednesday, February 14,
McCormick, aged 65 years,
11 days.
B. A. McCormick was born
Indiana, January 4, 1841 where
resided for 26 years. At the age
23 he was married, In 1867
moved to Illinois where he lived until
1882 when he moved to Missouri and
resided there until the 22nd day of
last October when he moved to
Morrow county.
He enlisted with the union forces
durin? the rebellion and served with
honor to himself and country, At the
age of 19 years he became a member
of the Baptist church arid lived a
christian life doing what he thought
was right and honorable in his daily
walks through life and died believing
In the Lord.
B. A. McCormick was a member
of the I. 0. 0. F. who took charge of
the funeral after a fitting disourse was
delivered In the Congregational church
by Rev. J. C, White, of Strawberry,
who had been Intimately acquainted
with Mr. McCormlnk for a number of
years. At the cemetery the services
were conducted by the I. 0. 0. F,
lodge and the soul was consigned to
God who gave It and the body lain to
rest In Mother Earth.
When the members had returned to
their lodge room a purse of $25.25
was taken up and presented to the
family to assist in defraying the funeral
expenses.
On Wednesday, February 14th Mr.
McCormick came to Lexington and on
the road horns with a load of wood,
while attempting to use the brake he
was thrown under the wheels which
passed over his chest and head and
seriously Injured him. He seemed to
be Improving and was able to be out of
i bed a few days before his death, yet he
was injured Internally which caused
his death.
He was the father of ten children,
five of whom survive him.
The Wheatfleld joins his host of
friends in expression of genuine sorrow
fnr the bereaved widow and children.
