room thereof, at Heppner, In the county of
Morrow, on Monday the 5th day of March,

A sufficient contest affidavit having been
filed In this office by Benjamin F. White,
contestant, against homestead entry No.
7552, made July 29, 1899, for E2 SE,
Sec, 8, Si SWX. Section 9, Township 1,
N. Range 26, E. W. M by William J,
Whyte, Contestee, In which it is alleged
that said William J, Whyte does not now
reside on nor has he cultivated or caused
to be cultivated any part of said land; nor
has he any house or any improvements
whatever; he has wholly abandoned said
land for more than six months last past;
that said alleged absence was not due to
his employment in the army, navy or
marine corps of the United States In time
of war. Said parties are hereby notified to
appear, respond and offer evidence touch
ing said allegation at 10 o'clock a. m. on
February 15, 1906, before W. B. McAlister,
a U. S. Commissioner at his office in
Lexington, Oregon, and that final hearing
